Лучшим драматическим сериалом стал «Сёгун», который победил во всех четырех номинациях, где был представлен. По две статуэтки забрали комедийный сериал «Хитрости» и мини-сериал «Олененок».

Комедии «Медведь», не так давно праздновавшей победу на церемонии вручения «Эмми», на этот раз повезло меньше. Победа досталась лишь Джереми Аллену Уайту, который, к слову, получает «Золотой глобус» третий год подряд — редкое достижение для актеров в телевизионных комедиях.

Также свои статуэтки забрали Джоди Фостер (за 4-й сезон «Настоящего детектива») и Колин Фаррелл (за «Пингвина»).
