Каждый год в Германии проводится конкурс на самое популярное слово в молодежном сленге. Буквально вчера немецкое издательство Langenscheidt опубликовало топ-10 слов, претендующих на звание Jugendwort 2023 (молодежное слово).
➡️ Голосование проходит на этом сайте, а победителя объявят 22 октября.

⚪️Молодежные слова прошлых лет:
2022 - smash (mit jemandem etwas anfangen); 2021 - cringe (peinlich, zum Fremdschämen); 2020 - lost (ahnungslos, verwirrt); 2018 - Ehrenmann/Ehrenfrau (guter Mensch); 2017 - i bims (ich bin's) и др. Кстати, Yolo (you only live once, звучит песня моих любимых The Strokes) уже становилось словом года в 2012. Его опять включили в список 2023, любопытно.

⚪️На картинках можете увидеть кандидатов этого года вместе с объяснениями и примерами. Интересно, какое слово победит в этот раз? Лично мне нравится goofy.
И, конечно, вчерашняя новость успела породить очередные мемы, так что прикрепляю и их.

Asked about its stance on disinformation, Telegram spokesperson Remi Vaughn told AFP: "As noted by our CEO, the sheer volume of information being shared on channels makes it extremely difficult to verify, so it's important that users double-check what they read." In view of this, the regulator has cautioned investors not to rely on such investment tips / advice received through social media platforms. It has also said investors should exercise utmost caution while taking investment decisions while dealing in the securities market. As such, the SC would like to remind investors to always exercise caution when evaluating investment opportunities, especially those promising unrealistically high returns with little or no risk. Investors should also never deposit money into someone’s personal bank account if instructed. In the past, it was noticed that through bulk SMSes, investors were induced to invest in or purchase the stocks of certain listed companies. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised.
