Ради победы Никита Кожемяка отправляется на поиски Кащея и попадает в ближневосточную страну, освобождая там друга Булата Балагура. Хорошая сказка от Александра Роу с народным фольклором на экране. Камень с указателями налево, направо, прямо в наличии; старичок-грибок – аналог Боровичка из «Морозко»; ковёр-самолёт. Шапка-невидимка (шляпка от гриба) в помощь богатырю; перстень Кащея, перстень Марьи; спрятанная смерть Кащея в виде яблока и ещё. Георгий Милляр – нечисть в чистом виде. Александр Ширшов / Булат Балагур – боевой товарищ. Сергей Столяров / Никита и Галина Григорьева / Марья – колоритные лица.
