❞ وَلَوْ فَهِمْنَا الْقُرْآنَ كَمَا فَهِمَهُ للسَّلَفُ، وَعَمِلْنَا بِهِ كَمَا عَمِلُوا بِهِ، وَحَكَّمْنَاهُ فِي نُفُوسِنَا كَمَا حَكَّمُوهُ، وَجَعَلْنَا أَهْوَاءَنَا وَمَشَارِبَنَا تَابِعَةً لَهُ ومَوْزُونَةً بِمِيزَانِهِ؛ لَوْ فَعَلْنَا ذَٰلِكَ لَكُنَّا بِهِ أَعِزَّةً فِي أَنْفُسِنَا وَأَئِمَّةً لِغَيْرِنَا ❝.
