Бордато является почетным гражданином Беслана. После теракта 2004 г. его ассоциация стала первой иностранной организацией, предложившей поддержку в программах психологической реабилитации. В 2021 г. по инициативе Бордато в его родном городе Роверето появился парк в память детей Беслана. В 2024 г. он участвовал в церемониях по случаю 20-летия трагедии.
