Вчера вышли на прогулку в Ботанический Сад Кракова. Случайно оказались в центре мероприятия «Mimo Wszystko». И потому, вход в Сад был свободный (регулярная цена -22 zł).🎟️

Здесь можно увидеть как экзотические растения - какао, ананасы, пальмы, так и простые овощи с грядки - салатик, свёкла, морковка. 🥕

Зелёный оазис в центре города, где просто приятно погулять или укрыться в тени в жаркий денёк.

Yesterday we went for a walk in the Botanical Garden of Krakow. We accidentally found ourselves in the center of the «Mimo Wszystko» festival. That’s why the entrance to the Garden was free (regular price -22 zł).🎟️

Here you can see both exotic plants - cocoa, pineapples, palm trees, and simple vegetables from the garden - lettuce, beets, carrots. 🥕

The Garden is like a green oasis in the city center, where it’s just nice to take a walk or hide in the shade of trees on a hot day.

At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. Given the pro-privacy stance of the platform, it’s taken as a given that it’ll be used for a number of reasons, not all of them good. And Telegram has been attached to a fair few scandals related to terrorism, sexual exploitation and crime. Back in 2015, Vox described Telegram as “ISIS’ app of choice,” saying that the platform’s real use is the ability to use channels to distribute material to large groups at once. Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. But the Ukraine Crisis Media Center's Tsekhanovska points out that communications are often down in zones most affected by the war, making this sort of cross-referencing a luxury many cannot afford. This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. The picture was mixed overseas. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 1.6%, under pressure from U.S. regulatory scrutiny on New York-listed Chinese companies. Stocks were more buoyant in Europe, where Frankfurt’s DAX surged 1.4%.
