Это небольшой купеческий город недалеко от Казани с населением почти 60 тыс. человек. Во время войны там жило 25 тыс. человек, но уже в первый же месяц увеличилось в два раза за счёт эвакуированных. В Чистополе есть Мемориальный музей Бориса Пастернака. Только вот интересно, что ни в Чистополе, ни в Казани сегодня нет ни одного даже хоть какого-нибудь мероприятия, посвящённого юбилею Пастернака. Это грустно. Большой промах со стороны Министерства культуры Татарстана. Кстати, на федеральном уровне тоже тихо. Молчаливое «не читал, но осуждаю».
