Удивительный, самобытный народ чукчи отмечает Новый год раньше всех нас. В одну из ночей происходит рождение Нового Года. В эту ночь на небе появляется в созвездии Орла звезда Альтаир, которой поклоняются чукчи. В честь этой звезды праздник носит имя Пэгытти.
