🇺🇸🇿🇦 Spokesperson for the U.S. State Department on X:
"The United States stands ready to help the descendants of settlers in South Africa who are being expropriated and abused by the South African government.
Pursuant to President Trump’s Executive Order, the State Department is suspending all non-life saving aid to the Republic of South Africa.
Persecuted South African farmers and other innocent victims being targeted solely based on their race who choose to resettle in America will be welcome.
The United States will also defend the rights and interests of those remaining descendants of settlers threatened with expropriation without compensation and other intolerable abuses.
We will no longer stand by while God-given rights are so cruelly violated."

Oleksandra Matviichuk, a Kyiv-based lawyer and head of the Center for Civil Liberties, called Durov’s position "very weak," and urged concrete improvements. "There are a lot of things that Telegram could have been doing this whole time. And they know exactly what they are and they've chosen not to do them. That's why I don't trust them," she said. It is unclear who runs the account, although Russia's official Ministry of Foreign Affairs Twitter account promoted the Telegram channel on Saturday and claimed it was operated by "a group of experts & journalists." Either way, Durov says that he withdrew his resignation but that he was ousted from his company anyway. Subsequently, control of the company was reportedly handed to oligarchs Alisher Usmanov and Igor Sechin, both allegedly close associates of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces "destroy the invaders wherever we can."
