Хочу вставить свое неэкспертное мнение: не руны привязаны к северной традиции, а традиция построена вокруг рун.
Есть примеры использования рун (как магии, в руноставах) приверженцами других религий (в том числе христианства). Мне, например, попадались источники с гальдрами, подписанными с обращением к Иисусу.
Руны это отдельно. Можно работать с рунами и не иметь отношения к Северу. Вопрос, конечно, зачем? Но кто мы такие чтобы спрашивать.
