Общая протяженность трассы М12 — 810 километров. Она пройдет по территории Московской, Владимирской и Нижегородской областей, Чувашии и Татарстана.

ГК «Автодор» на своем сайте сообщает: на скоростной автотрассе М-12 «Восток», соединяющей Москву со столицей Татарстана, расположены 18 многофункциональных зон отдыха и четыре контейнерных заправки - в будущем число МФЗ обещают довести до 32-х.
