5 декабря в 19:10 по московскому времени с площадки LC-39А Космического центра имени Кеннеди, расположенном в шт. Флорида, выполнен запуск ракеты-носителя Falcon-9 с радиоспутником SXM-9 от компании SiriusXM.

Запуск прошёл успешно, космический аппарат выведен на околоземную орбиту.

Использовавшаяся в 19-й раз 1-я ступень B1076 совершила посадку на морскую платформу JRTI (Just Read The Instructions) в акватории Атлантического океана.

SXM-9 — космический аппарат массой 7000 кг, предназначенный для поддержки стримингового вещания.
