Поскольку численность населения сильно искажена во многих регионах, фактический уровень зарегистрированных убийств в агломерациях Москвы и Петербурга ниже показанного (наличное население больше официального), а в регионах с завышенным населением выше (республики Кавказа, Мордовия и др).
В России, в отличие от многих других стран мира, при прочих равных чем больше город, тем он безопаснее, тем ниже в нем уровень преступности, в т.ч. убийств.
Существуют обоснованные подозрения, что часть убийств в России не регистрируются как таковые, попадая в другие категории, например повреждения с неопределенными намерениями

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces "destroy the invaders wherever we can."
