They now run it from Dubai, and Pavel Durov says it has more than 500 million monthly active users. However, the perpetrators of such frauds are now adopting new methods and technologies to defraud the investors. It is unclear who runs the account, although Russia's official Ministry of Foreign Affairs Twitter account promoted the Telegram channel on Saturday and claimed it was operated by "a group of experts & journalists." This provided opportunity to their linked entities to offload their shares at higher prices and make significant profits at the cost of unsuspecting retail investors. Sebi said data, emails and other documents are being retrieved from the seized devices and detailed investigation is in progress.
