Прекрасный хроникальный док о грандиозном строительстве СССР Асуанской ГЭС в Египте, для чего пришлось и Нил перекрывать, и древние статуи перетаскивать. История рассказана через судьбу инженера Вадима Руденко. Перед отправкой в Египет он влюбляется в девушку Веру, и через весь фильм проходит их нежная переписка. Редкую архивную хронику — изначально черно-белую — раскрасили с помощью искусственного интеллекта, и смотрится она замечательно. Понравился режиссерский прием, при котором хронику озвучивали не полностью, а воссоздавая только какой-то один звуковой элемент. Например, в кадре много людей, идет подписание договора между Хрущевым и Насером, а мы слышим отчетливо только росчерк ручки — Никита Сергеевич ставит свою подпись. Или стройка: в кадре тяжелая техника и множество рабочих, но нам дают услышать только самые важные звуковые детали.
