A "spider" is good for safely putting things into fry oil and taking them out, skimming off scum, and taking out chunks from your broth without having to strain it directly. I don't use it very often but when I do, I am glad to have it

Oh, and the leg of lamb was like $13 or so because they had it on managers special to clear space for thanksgiving turkeys 😎. Potatoes and squash from garden. Carrots good price too.

Palak curry is the most poopy looking curry but it is also my favourite

Really wacky leftovers soup

Ham and potato.. chowder..? I made a roux, added some acid whey, then leftover mashed potatoes and some carrot n ham. It was quite good. The tanginess of the whey really balanced it out. It reminds me of a pickle soup I made
