For the first time in decades, the Shiite shrine of Sayyida Zeinab in southern Damascus was empty of people on the eve of the month of Muharram.
According to Syrian sources, Syrian President Abu Muhammad al-Julani has instructed that entry to the site will not be allowed (some claim that this will be the case throughout the entire month of Muharram).
The Shiite shrine of Sayyida Zeinab was the strongest Iranian stronghold in Damascus during the Assad regime.

Elimination of a senior commander in the military wing of Hamas
Gaza sources report that yesterday one of the senior commanders in the military wing of Hamas, an unusual figure in the landscape, was assassinated, named:
Hakham al-Issa - "Abu Amr al-Suri".
According to these sources, al-Issa, a Palestinian born in Syria, fought in the past against the Americans in Afghanistan, against the Russians in Chechnya and against Israel in Lebanon in 2000.
Al-Issa moved his residence to Gaza in 2005 and then rose to key positions in the military wing of Hamas.
He founded the training and education system of the military wing of Hamas, established the "military academy" of Hamas and was a leading factor in the planning and execution of the massacre of October 7th.
He was eliminated yesterday in an Israeli attack along with his wife and grandson.

Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza: 81 dead and 422 injured in the Strip in the past 24 hours. ## Yesterday, a significant increase in the number of attacks was observed compared to the past week. The number of deaths seems reasonable given the scale…
Gaza sources: Hakham al-Issa, the senior commander in Hamas' military wing, was killed in an attack last night near the Palestine Stadium in the Ramal neighborhood of Gaza City.
##
I bring up the documentation from the area that was attacked (where Hakham al-Issa was killed) here👆, earlier today - a bomb from a fighter jet on an area where there were 15 displaced persons' tents that turned into a deep hole in the sand.

The Palestinians report that the IDF dropped leaflets in the area of the Sudanese Beach in the northwest of Gaza City with the text:
فَأَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ.
This is the second half of verse 14 in Surah Al-Ankabut (the Surah of the Spider) in the Quran, which deals with the story of Noah and the flood, and its translation is: “…and the flood swept them away for their sins.”
The word for flood in Arabic is “tufan” طوفان. Hamas chose the name “Tufan al-Aqsa” – the al-Aqsa Flood – as the name for the war it launched on October 7th. And now it is paying for its sins.
