The attack on Evin Prison has special significance - Israel is, in practice, working to topple the regime. It is freeing its political opponents.

This is a kind of declaration: Go out, your day has come. It’s time to overthrow the government. It amplifies the sense of chaos.

Attack on the headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in the city of Karaj in Alborz Province, which is located west of Tehran Province. As mentioned, the attacks are also outside of Tehran.

The Lebanese Al Mayadeen channel reports that Israel attacked one of the power supply lines for the Evin area in the capital, Tehran – which is causing power outages in the area.

A Bit of History

On January 3, 2021, The Iranian parliament announced a bill to eliminate Israel by 2041

A draft of a bill was published in which the parliament determined that the regime is obligated to act to destroy Israel within 20 years (following Khamenei's declaration 5 years prior. Attached is a picture of the countdown clock placed in Tehran).
The declaration is under the section "Revenge for the assassination of Qassem Soleimani" alongside a statement that one percent of all Iranian exports to Iraq will be used as a budgetary source for revenge that will also work to remove American forces from the region.

An Iranian opposition channel mocked the declaration, noting that Israel's relations with countries in the region are expanding every day while Iran's isolation is increasing. This is in addition to the fact that, according to the channel, Israel has attacked targets of the Iranian Quds Force in Syria over 500 times in years prior without any significant Iranian response or retaliation...

Today, the Office of the Minister of Defense of Israel announced:

In accordance with the directive of Prime Minister Netanyahu and Minister of Defense Israel Katz, the IDF is currently striking with unprecedented force regime targets and governmental suppression bodies in the heart of Tehran, including – the Basij headquarters, Evin Prison for political prisoners and regime opponents, the "Destruction of Israel" clock in Palestine Square, internal security headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards, the ideology headquarters, and additional regime targets.

For every attack on the Israeli home front, the Iranian dictator will be punished and the strikes will continue with full force. We will continue to act to defend the home front and defeat the enemy until all the objectives of the war are achieved.

The type of targets mentioned by the Minister of Defense are aimed at overthrowing the regime and related to the repression of citizens who participated in demonstrations against the regime.

The 21st wave of launches in Operation “Promise of Truth 3” this morning included the first use of the Khaybar H-type ballistic missile, which features a separating warhead.

A short while ago, the Israeli Air Force fighter jets, guided by precise intelligence from the IDF Intelligence Directorate, struck command centers and assets belonging to the Internal Security Forces and the IRGC in Tehran, Iran.

These forces consist of various corps and command centers, and are responsible, on behalf of the Iranian regime's military, for defending the homeland security, suppressing threats, and maintaining the regime's stability.

As part of the strike, the headquarters of the Basij was targeted. The Basij is one of the IRGC’s central armed bases of power. Alongside its other fuctions, it is also responsible for enforcing the Islamic law and reporting civilians who violate it to the regime authorities.

Additionally, the Alborz Corps, responsible for the security of several cities in the Tehran District from various threats and for maintaining the regime's stability, was struck, along with the Intelligence and General Security Police under the Internal Security Forces, which also forms part of regimes military forces.

These command centers have significant military effect and additionally they impact the regime's ability to impose control. Striking these military targets harms the Iranian regime's military capabilities.
