في أوائل التسعينيات كتب الدكتور عبد العظيم الديب رحمه الله، هذا الفقيه والأصولي والمحقق الفحل كتابًا خرج به عن المألوف في مجاله في أصول الفقه وفروعه، فقد كان الكتاب عن قضية "جنوب السودان" في إبان المعارك الدائرة بين الشمال والجنوب وقبل الانفصال بعقود.
الكتاب يرصد تاريخ التآمر الغربي على السودان عموما، ودعمهم المستميت لانفصال الجنوب عنه؛ لأسباب استعمارية وسياسية ودينية، وفي سياق الكلام لفت نظري أنه يؤكد أن بعض الدول العربية كانت تُساعد زعيم المتمردين جون قرنق بالمال والسلاح!
وقد أصابني الاستغراب ثم سرعان ما أفقتُ لنفسي حين رأيت بعض هذه الدول تساعد حميدتي اليوم ضد الجيش ووحدة البلاد، وتساعد آبي أحمد في أثيوبيا ليصبح ملك المياه والنيل بل وتعمل على إيصاله للبحر الأحمر للسيطرة عليه في مواجهة لا أقول المصالح المصرية بل وجود الدولة في مصر! فانظر إلى حجم الخيانة للإسلام والمسلمين!

Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. The original Telegram channel has expanded into a web of accounts for different locations, including specific pages made for individual Russian cities. There's also an English-language website, which states it is owned by the people who run the Telegram channels. Official government accounts have also spread fake fact checks. An official Twitter account for the Russia diplomatic mission in Geneva shared a fake debunking video claiming without evidence that "Western and Ukrainian media are creating thousands of fake news on Russia every day." The video, which has amassed almost 30,000 views, offered a "how-to" spot misinformation. Perpetrators of these scams will create a public group on Telegram to promote these investment packages that are usually accompanied by fake testimonies and sometimes advertised as being Shariah-compliant. Interested investors will be asked to directly message the representatives to begin investing in the various investment packages offered.
