Отличная короткометражка из 1942 года. Во-первых, зацепила задумка совместить народную легенду с фронтовым подвигом. Во-вторых отличный баланс русского и казахского (и понятно, и колорит виден). Ну и, в-третьих, замечательный во всех смыслах авторский коллектив. В том числе отмечу Александра Птушко - после войны снял одну из моих любимейших в детстве экранизаций - "Сказку о потерянное времени". В представленной картине он выступил оператором.
Кстати, гора под которой якобы был погребен великан Толагай реально существует в Карагандинской области.
