По одной из версий, удары стали ответом Тель-Авиву за ликвидацию боевика, который был сыном высокопоставленного руководителя "Хезболлы". Всего при ударах ВС Израиля по южной части Ливана шиитское формирование потеряло восемьдесят пять участников группировки.
