Syrian army forces withdraw from Deir ez-Zur in eastern Syria and move toward Damascus

This morning, channels associated with the Syrian opposition reported that Assad's forces handed over territories to the Kurds and began evacuating from Deir ez-Zur on their way to Damascus. It seems that Assad is seeking to protect the important stronghold and is relinquishing control over other areas in order to do so.

The battle for Damascus will be the fight of his life.
