В районе Арабатской стрелки добывается около 60 тысяч кубометров газа, чего хватает только для снабжения Геническа и Генического района. Для обеспечения дополнительных потребностей была построена компенсирующая ветка газопровода, снабжающая Генический и Новотроицкий районы.
Газпром разработал документацию до 2028 года, согласно которой Черноморнефтегаз построит новый газопровод. По словам губернатора, это позволит увеличить поставки газа как со стороны Крыма, так и с материка.
