ومَذهبي في الحُب، الكِبرياء، غيرَ أنها الكِبرياءُ التي تُدرِكُ المرأَةُ منها أني قويٌّ لا أني مُتكبِّر، كِبرياءُ الرجُلِ إما مَهيبٌ مَرِحٌ يملكُ أفراحَ قلبِها، وإما حزينٌ مَهيبٌ يملكُ أحزانَ هذا القلب.
إنَّ المرأةَ لا تُحِبُّ إلا رجُلًا يكونُ أوَّلُ الحُسنِ فيه حُسنَ فَهمِها له، وأوَّلُ القُوَّةِ فيه قوةَ إعجابِها به، وأوَّلُ الكِبرياءِ فيه كِبرياؤها هي بحُبِّهِ وكِبرياؤها بأنه رجُل.
هذا هو الذي يجتمعُ فيه للمرأَةِ اثنان: إنسانُها الظريف، ووَحشُها الظريف!.
