Большая часть братии встретилась с отцом Евлогием и имела с ним беседу о вопросах внутренней жизни монастыря. Вместе с отцом наместником в обитель приехал игумен Илиан (Илий), много лет проживший на Афоне в русском Пантелеимоновом монастыре. На следующий день о. Евлогий представил о. Илиана (Илия) братии как нового духовника, назначенного в Оптину пустынь.
