Ответ Предстоятеля довольно ясен и логичен - проповедь Царствия Небесного и здравый патриотизм не противоречат друг другу. Церковь не может не быть со своим народом.
К слову, как оказалось, на собрании митрополии любой священник имел возможность задать вопрос Патриарху, вопреки утверждениям некоторых деятелей об "отсутствии" в РПЦ свободы мнений.
