Большинство членов Совета активно работают: участвуют в заседаниях, готовят экспертные заключения, вносят предложения по совершенствованию природоохранного законодательства.
Однако есть и те, кто не проявляет должной вовлечённости, — по итогам 2024 года более 30 участников покинут НТС, уступив место специалистам, готовым к продуктивной работе.
