Мэр Оренбурга Сергей Салмин обратился к жителям города в связи с повышением уровня воды в реке Урал, который в настоящий момент находится на отметке 855 м. Он отметил, что в ночь уровень воды может достичь критической отметки (930 м) и потребовал всех жителей эвакуироваться из зоны подтопления.
Салмин подчеркнул, что тех, кто откажется покидать свои дома, будут эвакуировать принудительно, при участии сотрудников полиции: «В ближайшее время мы используем систему оповещения, отнеситесь к сигналу серьезно. У нас больше нет времени на уговоры».
