Ініціатором каверу стала Оля Цибульска. Так вона хоче привернути увагу до проєкту Інни Мірошниченко та «Твоя опора», який допомагає знайти наставників підліткам з інтернатів.
Капітошку придумала письменниця Наталя Гузєєва (вона ж створила ще одного культового дитячого персонажа Петрика П'яточкіна). У легендарному мульті 1980 року пісеньку Капітошки виконала Хорова капела Українського радіо.
