Окончив школу, он отправился работать на моторемонтный завод. Там он был учеником токаря. Однако началась война и в августе 1941 года молодой человек попал в добровольческий батальон. Через месяц он получил тяжелое ранение и был эвакуирован в 1942 году.
Поправившись, Вениамин Александрович снова отправился на фронт. В этот раз он попал в батальон связи. Победу над фашистами мужчина встретил в Германии и осенью 1945 года вернулся домой. У него имеются Орден Красной Звезды и Красного Знамени.
В Нижний Тагил фронтовик переехал в 1957 году вместе со своей женой. Он устроился работать шофером на гормолзавод. Потом он работал бригадиром слесарей и затем начальником газовой котельной. #гордостьТагила
