Смысл этой идеи был в том, что фары со специальными насадками, распределяющими поток света, использовались для боёв в темное время суток. Крепились фары на ствол орудия, рядом с маской. Как указывается в документах завода №174, ставились они недолго - с 1937 по 1938 годы. Самое интересное, что позже фары боевого света, в несколько измененном виде, на танки вернулись, причем их можно было видеть на зарубежных машинах.
