18 декабря во время дебатов между бывшим и действующим мэрами Еревана стало известно о том, что билет Авиняна в Лос–Анджелес стоил порядка $20 тыс. Позднее мэр заявил о том, что сам "в шоке" от этой суммы, которую обязательно возместит.
