После советско-финской войны в марте 1940 года Кексгольм вошел в состав Карело-Финской советской республики. Здание кирхи перешло во владение НКВД.

В советское время здесь размещался отдел НКВД, затем — Дом культуры.
В начале 2000-х здесь проводили дискотеки и работал бар, позже в здании случился пожар.

Сейчас фасад отреставрирован, но посетителям вход закрыт.
