В ESA планується конкурс на розробку вантажного космічного корабля. Попередні вимоги - він повинен доставити від двох тон вантажу на орбіту та повернути не менше тони на Землю.

Конкурс ще не стартував (його потрібно включити в плани фінансування космічних розробок), але різні компанії вже працюють над власними проєктами.

Цікавим є проєкт ArianeGroup - багаторазовий космічний корабель SUSIE (Smart Upper Stage for Innovative Exploration). Це багатофункціональний апарат - тобто як у вантажній (до 7 т вантажів на орбіту), так і пілотованій версіях.

Орієнтовні габарити - довжина 12 м, діаметр 5 м. Помітно, що загальна концепція космічного корабля близька до концепції Starship.

Зараз в ArianeGroup працюють з робочим макетом-демонстратором SUSIE (у масштабі 1:6) - обладнаний реактивним двигуном, довжина 2 м, маса 100 кг. Але поки невідомо, чи будуть запускати цей демонстратор у космос - чи спробують створити малий вантажний корабель (довжиною 6 м і вантажністю до 2 т).
