Tadanori Yokoo & Renzaburo Shibata.
Uro Tsuki Yata [Yata, the Vagabond].
Published by Shueisha, 1975
ISBN: 00937800043041

This rare edition of Uro Tsuki Yata (1975) is a collaboration between novelist Renzaburo Shibata and Japanese graphic design megastar Tadanori Yokoo. The novel follows the adventures of Yata, a wandering vagabond, set against the backdrop of historical Japan. I’ve never actually read the story, but the book itself stands out for its experimental design, featuring vibrant color illustrations and innovative layouts that blend traditional narrative with avant-garde visual storytelling. Something that I really miss in many modern books.

The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice. Despite Telegram's origins, its approach to users' security has privacy advocates worried. For Oleksandra Tsekhanovska, head of the Hybrid Warfare Analytical Group at the Kyiv-based Ukraine Crisis Media Center, the effects are both near- and far-reaching. So, uh, whenever I hear about Telegram, it’s always in relation to something bad. What gives? "Someone posing as a Ukrainian citizen just joins the chat and starts spreading misinformation, or gathers data, like the location of shelters," Tsekhanovska said, noting how false messages have urged Ukrainians to turn off their phones at a specific time of night, citing cybersafety.
