Позже последовала серия из 5 атомоходов проекта «Арктика», названного в честь головного ледокола второго поколения, построенного корабелами Балтийского завода ОСК.
Сегодня особое место в составе российского флота занимают новейшие атомные ледоколы проекта 22220, строительство которых ведет Балтийский завод.
