🇬🇧Pochaiv Lavra denies MinCulture permission to film on monastery grounds

🇺🇦Почаївська лавра відмовила Мінкульту у зйомках на території монастиря
The Lavra suggested that Ministry of Culture representatives wait until the end of martial law.

The Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra has denied the Ministry of Culture permission to conduct video filming on the monastery grounds. The corresponding document was published on the monastery’s Telegram channel.
On February 3, 2025, the Ministry of Culture, through the Deputy Director of the Kremenets-Pochaiv Reserve, I. Derevinsky, requested that the Lavra administration grant access to a filming crew.
In a response letter dated February 4, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Pochaiv and the monastery brethren refused the request, citing that the Lavra is a place of mass gatherings, and filming there during wartime is prohibited by law.
The Lavra referred to the decision of the Defense Council of Ternopil Region from March 31, 2022, which prohibits “photo and video recording in the region of checkpoints, military and critical infrastructure sites, buildings of state and executive authorities, local government bodies, enterprises, institutions, and organizations authorized to perform relevant functions, roads where they are located, as well as places of mass gatherings.”

What a Difference a POTUS Makes: Army Recruiting for December and January Both Shatter Records Going Back Years

The number of the New Martyrs of Russia (Sunday closest to Jan. 25) far exceeds that of all the martyrs who died for Christ during the first three centuries of Christianity. The Russian Church lost millions of its sons and daughters, not only at the hands of external enemies, but also those of their own country. Among those who were murdered and tortured in the years of persecution were countless Orthodox: laity, monks, priests, and bishops, whose only “crime” was their unshakable faith in God.

Among those who suffered for their faith were some who labored in America before the Russian Revolution: St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia (April 7); St. Alexander Hotovitzky (Dec. 4); St. John Kochurov (Oct. 31).

☦️ Holy New Martyrs of Russia, pray for us!

Three generations of the Pravdolyubov family talk about Fr. John Krestiankin (1910–2006)
Anastasia Goriunova

His cell was an “x-ray room”. And also, as Fr. John joked, the only “forced air (artificial ventilation) room”. You could even say “ICU”. A place where you were brought back to life and “spread your wings”.

Pükhtitsa was founded in 1891 with assistance from St. John of Kronstadt. Besides the Pskov Caves Monastery, it is the only holy habitation to have never closed during the long decades of atheist Bolshevik rule.
🇬🇧A NEW CHURCH OF THE SUFFERED PARISH OF THE UOC. TRISKYNI

🇺🇦НОВИЙ ХРАМ ПОСТРАЖДАЛОЇ ПАРАФІЇ УПЦ. ТРІСКИНІ
◾️On February 2 and 3, in Triskini village, Rivne region, the first services were held in the newly built UOC church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Joy and Consolation".

The new shrine was built by Orthodox Christians, who were taken away the St. Nicholas Church by OCU raiders.

The UOC parish underwent many difficult trials. The OCU clerics decided to seize the church back in 2023.

The criminals incited hatred against Christians, staged provocations, put pressure on believers at work. They even threatened soldiers from the church parish.

Due to several attempts of storming and documents falsification, OCU raiders managed to take away the shrine.

The UOC parishioners were forced to pray in an adapted room. But the Christians did not give up.

They decided to build a new church. In 6 months, a new beautiful church appeared in Triskiny.

On February 2, the faithful moved from the hut to their new sanctuary in a solemn procession, after which they served the first All-Night Vigil there.

On February 3, on the day of veneration of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos "Joy and Consolation", the first Liturgy was celebrated in the new church.

The Holy Dormition religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Dubovtsy in the Chernivtsi region recorded an appeal to the US government, Vice President Jay Vance and the UN Human Rights Monitoring Group and the OSCE due to the threat of seizure of their church by supporters of the OCU. According to representatives of the UOC community, this time the OCU supporters did not even hold a "vote for changing jurisdictional affiliation", which is traditional for such procedures, but simply imitated a meeting, sending documents for re-registration to the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration.
