В Сербии выбрали фильм, который будет претендовать на соискание премии Оскар Американской академии киноискусств. Эксперты комиссии по отбору сербского кандидата большинством голосов проголосовали за картину «Дара из Ясеновца» режиссера Предрага Антониевича. Это кино о судьбе девочки Дары и ее семьи, которая во время Второй мировой войны попала в концлагерь хорватских фашистов-усташей Ясеновац. 12-летняя Дара борется за выживание младшего брата. Главную роль в фильме играет Биляна Чекич.

In 2014, Pavel Durov fled the country after allies of the Kremlin took control of the social networking site most know just as VK. Russia's intelligence agency had asked Durov to turn over the data of anti-Kremlin protesters. Durov refused to do so.
