Ученые из Уральского федерального университет им. первого Президента России Б. Н. Ельцина получили новую мостиковую гетероциклическую систему – 3,4,5,6-тетрагидро-2H-3,6-эпоксибензо[g][1,4]оксазоцинов в 3-4 стадии из легкодоступных салициловых альдегидов. Выявлено, что синтез характеризуется использованием оксазолидинового цикла с последующим гидролизом и замыканием в более стабильный мостиковый оксазолидин. Исследователям удалось определить, что полученные 2H-3,6-эпоксибензо[g][1,4]оксазоцины, несмотря на кислородный мостик и аминоацетальный фрагмент, является крайне устойчивыми соединениями даже к воздействию хлорной кислоты. Результаты работы опубликованы в журнале Tetrahedron Letters.

Emerson Brooking, a disinformation expert at the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab, said: "Back in the Wild West period of content moderation, like 2014 or 2015, maybe they could have gotten away with it, but it stands in marked contrast with how other companies run themselves today." On Telegram’s website, it says that Pavel Durov “supports Telegram financially and ideologically while Nikolai (Duvov)’s input is technological.” Currently, the Telegram team is based in Dubai, having moved around from Berlin, London and Singapore after departing Russia. Meanwhile, the company which owns Telegram is registered in the British Virgin Islands. Telegram does offer end-to-end encrypted communications through Secret Chats, but this is not the default setting. Standard conversations use the MTProto method, enabling server-client encryption but with them stored on the server for ease-of-access. This makes using Telegram across multiple devices simple, but also means that the regular Telegram chats you’re having with folks are not as secure as you may believe. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) had carried out a similar exercise in 2017 in a matter related to circulation of messages through WhatsApp. Just days after Russia invaded Ukraine, Durov wrote that Telegram was "increasingly becoming a source of unverified information," and he worried about the app being used to "incite ethnic hatred."
