The IDF attacked Houthi targets in Yemen last night.

Around 2:30 a.m., a Houthi missile was launched toward Israel. Sirens were activated in the center of the country. The missile was intercepted, but fragments from the interceptor hit an empty school building in Ramat Efal, causing significant damage.

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., Arab media outlets reported a widespread IDF attack in Yemen on the following targets:

1. The Haziz central power station in the north of the capital, Sana'a.

2. The D'Habban Central Power Station in the south of the capital, Sanaa.

3. The oil facility in Ras Issa, Hodeidah province.

4. Hodeidah Port.

Following the attacks, 9 deaths and 3 injuries were reported among the workers at the Ras Issa oil facility.
Extensive power outages were also reported in Sana'a and Hodeidah.

##
The the attacks were likely planned weeks in advance. The timing of the launch of the ballistic missile by the Houthis before the attacks/in close proximity to them is, to say the least, interesting.

On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. Recently, Durav wrote on his Telegram channel that users' right to privacy, in light of the war in Ukraine, is "sacred, now more than ever." Ukrainian forces have since put up a strong resistance to the Russian troops amid the war that has left hundreds of Ukrainian civilians, including children, dead, according to the United Nations. Ukrainian and international officials have accused Russia of targeting civilian populations with shelling and bombardments. DFR Lab sent the image through Microsoft Azure's Face Verification program and found that it was "highly unlikely" that the person in the second photo was the same as the first woman. The fact-checker Logically AI also found the claim to be false. The woman, Olena Kurilo, was also captured in a video after the airstrike and shown to have the injuries. In addition, Telegram's architecture limits the ability to slow the spread of false information: the lack of a central public feed, and the fact that comments are easily disabled in channels, reduce the space for public pushback.
