The regulator took order for the search and seizure operation from Judge Purushottam B Jadhav, Sebi Special Judge / Additional Sessions Judge. However, the perpetrators of such frauds are now adopting new methods and technologies to defraud the investors. Telegram was founded in 2013 by two Russian brothers, Nikolai and Pavel Durov. Sebi said data, emails and other documents are being retrieved from the seized devices and detailed investigation is in progress. Some people used the platform to organize ahead of the storming of the U.S. Capitol in January 2021, and last month Senator Mark Warner sent a letter to Durov urging him to curb Russian information operations on Telegram.
