Тушу мамонтенка показали в Музее мамонта Северо-Восточного федерального университета. Эта седьмая подобная находка мирового масштаба. Всего до этого момента было обнаружено шесть останков мамонтят, из них пять в России.
Ученые отметили, что у туши хорошо сохранились внутренние ткани, нет никаких утрат на голове: хобот, уши, ротовая область без видимых повреждений и деформаций. Мамонтенка назвали Яной — по названию протекающей рядом с местом находки реки.
