We are back with another note on Kostamus authored together with Mikhail Arkhipov. As Mikhail is continuing his forays into what is a true modernist gem of this Karelian town, the Druzhba Cultural Center, to officially photograph its interiors and is badgering the authorities with requests for information, let us wish him good luck in his struggles and take a look at the outpatient medical center and Kostamus's first shopping mall in the meantime.

The outpatient medical center was opened on June 14th, 1984 and was intended to manage a caseload of 600 patients per shift. Medical equipment was provided by Medicor, Hungary, while all of the furnishings were supplied by Finland as part of the contract with the USSR making the center a gesamtuknstwerk of the 1980s. Its orange furniture, which has survived over 40 years in use, is something that sets this medical center apart from similar institutions elsewhere. By the way, the entrance also remains almost intact, but for its sides, which, sadly, have been covered with vinyl siding.

Ukrainian forces have since put up a strong resistance to the Russian troops amid the war that has left hundreds of Ukrainian civilians, including children, dead, according to the United Nations. Ukrainian and international officials have accused Russia of targeting civilian populations with shelling and bombardments. The perpetrators use various names to carry out the investment scams. They may also impersonate or clone licensed capital market intermediaries by using the names, logos, credentials, websites and other details of the legitimate entities to promote the illegal schemes. He said that since his platform does not have the capacity to check all channels, it may restrict some in Russia and Ukraine "for the duration of the conflict," but then reversed course hours later after many users complained that Telegram was an important source of information. That hurt tech stocks. For the past few weeks, the 10-year yield has traded between 1.72% and 2%, as traders moved into the bond for safety when Russia headlines were ugly—and out of it when headlines improved. Now, the yield is touching its pandemic-era high. If the yield breaks above that level, that could signal that it’s on a sustainable path higher. Higher long-dated bond yields make future profits less valuable—and many tech companies are valued on the basis of profits forecast for many years in the future. You may recall that, back when Facebook started changing WhatsApp’s terms of service, a number of news outlets reported on, and even recommended, switching to Telegram. Pavel Durov even said that users should delete WhatsApp “unless you are cool with all of your photos and messages becoming public one day.” But Telegram can’t be described as a more-secure version of WhatsApp.
