روى الحافظ بن عساكر في تاريخ دمشق بسنده عن محمد بن بُريد عن أبيه قال : لقيت أبا العتاهيةِ فقلت: مَن أشعرُ الناس؟ فقال: الشابُّ العاهر أبو نُواس حيث يقول :
أزور محمَّدًا فإذا التقينا تعاتَبت الضَّمائرُ في الصُّدورِ
فأرجعُ لم ألُمْه ولم يَلُمْني وقد قَبِل الضَّميرُ عن الضَّمير
فلقيتُ أبا نُواس فقلت: مَن أشعرُ الناس؟ فقال: الشيخُ الطاهر أبو العتاهيةِ حيث يقول: الناسُ في غَفَلاتهمْ ورحى المَنيَّة تَطْحَنُ
فقلت: من أين أخذ هذا جعلني الله فداك؟ قال: من قوله تعالى: {اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُعْرِضُونَ}.

Recently, Durav wrote on his Telegram channel that users' right to privacy, in light of the war in Ukraine, is "sacred, now more than ever." Telegram has acted to remove public channels affiliated with terrorism, but Pavel Durov reiterated that he had no business snooping on private conversations. Groups are also not fully encrypted, end-to-end. This includes private groups. Private groups cannot be seen by other Telegram users, but Telegram itself can see the groups and all of the communications that you have in them. All of the same risks and warnings about channels can be applied to groups. Under the Sebi Act, the regulator has the power to carry out search and seizure of books, registers, documents including electronics and digital devices from any person associated with the securities market. The gold standard of encryption, known as end-to-end encryption, where only the sender and person who receives the message are able to see it, is available on Telegram only when the Secret Chat function is enabled. Voice and video calls are also completely encrypted.
