80 лет назад, 30 января 1945 года, совершил свой бессмертный подвиг старший сержант, уроженец д. Бурачевка Выгоничского района Брянской области, Павел Михайлович Зайцев(1923-1945). Герой закрыл своим телом амбразуру вражеского дота при форсировании р. Одер и создании плацдармов на ее берегу. Своим мужественным поступком Павел Зайцев спас жизни многим товарищам, вражеский пулемёт замолчал, наступление продолжилось. Подвиг Павла Зайцева показывает, какие ожесточённые бои шли с гитлеровцами при освобождении Европы, вплоть до самого конца войны. В феврале 1945 г. Павел Зайцев был удостоен звания Героя Советского Союза посмертно.
