По данным издания, заместитель помощника госсекретаря США Кристофер Смит на днях посетил Беларусь, чтобы лично встретиться с президентом страны Александром Лукашенко и главой КГБ республики Иваном Тертелем.
Как утверждает газета, речь на встрече шла об обмене заключенных в Беларуси граждан США на ослабление некоторых американских санкций.
Издание отмечает, что помимо освобождения политзаключённых, ещё одна цель дипломатии США — ослабить связи Лукашенко с Россией.
