3 февраля в 06:15 диспетчеру Поронайского пожарно-спасательного гарнизона поступило сообщение о возгорании мусора на улице Победы, 2. Пожарный расчет прибыл через 4 минуты. К моменту прибытия огнеборцев на открытой территории горел мусор на площади 1 квадратный метр.
Возгорание было локализовано в 06:21, а в 06:23 полностью ликвидировано. В тушении участвовали 5 человек и 1 единица техники пожарно-спасательной службы Сахалинской области.
