Причиной спила послужило то, что дерево уже много лет кренилось в сторону дома и жители боялись, что дерево упадет на их балконы так же, как произошло недавно со старым ясенем.

Однако, остается незакрытым вопрос: можно ли было спасти сосну, сделать подпорки, срезать утяжеляющие ветки?

У сосны интересная история: в 1967 году, когда украинцы сдали массив в эксплуатацию, в качестве подарка возле каждого подъезда посадили по сосне. Все сосны давно уже исчезли, только две выстояли, давая жилье белочкам и птицам. Теперь вот осталась одна…

Особенно по утрате сосны сожалеют старожилы, заселившиеся в эти дома первыми.
