Первая презентация "Донецкого моря" в Петербурге.

Зал, рассчитанный на 20-25 посетителей, вместил в себя раза в два больше. Сидели на подоконниках, слушали стоя. Длилась встреча около двух с половиной часов.

Писатель Ольга Погодина-Кузмина (я отправляла ей ещё черновик повести) вспомнила пророчества либералов о том, что нас, любящих свою страну, ждёт "безлюдная пустыня".

Пустыня оказалась многолюдной... Но порадовало не только это. Поразили сами люди. Своим уровнем образования, эрудицией, умными, точными вопросами.

Как там любили говорить либеральные деятели? Мы ориентируемся на "думающую публику"? Нет, это у нас по-настоящему думающая публика.

Говорили о Донбассе и позиции творческой среды во время начала СВО, о трагедии 1991 года и югославской войне, о "Ельцин-центре" и конфликте красных и белых, о необходимости ротации элит, современной литературе, театре, кино.

Как же люди переживают за свою страну...

This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children. The company maintains that it cannot act against individual or group chats, which are “private amongst their participants,” but it will respond to requests in relation to sticker sets, channels and bots which are publicly available. During the invasion of Ukraine, Pavel Durov has wrestled with this issue a lot more prominently than he has before. Channels like Donbass Insider and Bellum Acta, as reported by Foreign Policy, started pumping out pro-Russian propaganda as the invasion began. So much so that the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council issued a statement labeling which accounts are Russian-backed. Ukrainian officials, in potential violation of the Geneva Convention, have shared imagery of dead and captured Russian soldiers on the platform. The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice. Telegram has become more interventionist over time, and has steadily increased its efforts to shut down these accounts. But this has also meant that the company has also engaged with lawmakers more generally, although it maintains that it doesn’t do so willingly. For instance, in September 2021, Telegram reportedly blocked a chat bot in support of (Putin critic) Alexei Navalny during Russia’s most recent parliamentary elections. Pavel Durov was quoted at the time saying that the company was obliged to follow a “legitimate” law of the land. He added that as Apple and Google both follow the law, to violate it would give both platforms a reason to boot the messenger from its stores. "There are a lot of things that Telegram could have been doing this whole time. And they know exactly what they are and they've chosen not to do them. That's why I don't trust them," she said.
