«Александр Маркелович родился в солдатской слободе Командак. В октябре 1944 года в 17-летнем возрасте он был призван в ряды Советской Армии и служил в действующей армии до 1951 года», - сообщили в администрации.
Александра Башмакова наградили медалью "За победу над Германией", а также другими почетными юбилейными и памятными медалями. Вернувшись домой, он работал на заводе ЗИМ вместе со своей супругой, а затем продолжил свою трудовую деятельность в ДК "Звезда".
